Medicare has costs — but if your income is limited, you may qualify for programs that significantly reduce or eliminate them. Here's what's available by state.

Federal Programs — Available in All States

• Extra Help / Low-Income Subsidy (LIS) — helps pay Part D drug costs; apply at SSA.gov or call 800.772.1213
• Medicare Savings Programs (QMB, SLMB, QI) — help pay Part B premiums, deductibles & copays; apply through your state Medicaid office

New Jersey

• NJ PAAD — Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Aged & Disabled — low co-pays on prescriptions; call 800.792.9745 or apply at aging.nj.gov
• NJ Senior Gold Prescription Discount Program — for those just above PAAD income limits; same application via NJSave

Pennsylvania (Philadelphia Area)

• PACE/PACENET — Pharmaceutical Assistance Contract for the Elderly — low-cost prescriptions for PA seniors 65+; call 800.225.7223

Florida

• Florida Rx Card — Free Prescription Discount Card — free coupon card for discounts on brand & generic drugs at 68,000+ pharmacies; no personal info required. Not insurance.
